Music In the Meadow - 1st July

Despite logistical problems with the field due to rain the night before, the large amount of wind that tore gazebos to shreds and the threat of more rain to come, the Red Herrings kicked off the proceedings at the Channel Rotary club's Music in the Meadow event in Monks Horton on Sunday the 1st July. The event raised money for the Pilgrim's Hospice and other local charities and the Herrings were very happy to play with other bands such as the Norton Natchbull Hot Eight and The fabulous Jo Wilson Trio.

New Romney Open Air Concert - 30th June

The band played at the New Romney Open Air Concert in St. Martin's Field on the Saturday 30th June despite the pouring rain. A suprisingly large audience turned up to listen to the Herrings and other local bands and this, coupled with the great food and drink made the evening a definite success. Our thanks go to the concert committee and all those who made the concert go ahead. Our friend from Romney Marsh FM Moe Al-jourani was recording for The Moe Show so stay tuned for that. Pictures and possibly recordings will hopefully be posted soon.

Try Angle Awards - 19th June
The Red Herrings attended the Try Angle Awards on Tuesday 19th June and were presented with a certificate for being nominated in the field of personal achivement in music. Although we didn't get the award (our congratulations go to Howard Double) we would like to thank the people organising the awards for a great evening. A few pictures of us there are on the second page of our gallery here. More will hopefully follow
